NY1 FOLLOW-UP: The head of the city's auxiliary officers' union says auxiliary officers are now given - and required to wear - bullet proof vests during their shifts. While federal line of duty death benefits were initially denied for Marshalik and Pekearo, they were granted after an appeal.
