NY1 VIDEO: On this day in 2003, NY1 heard the first rumblings of a plan to put a new arena near Atlantic Terminal and move the New Jersey Nets to Brooklyn.

NY1 FOLLOW-UP: As basketball fans already know, the Brooklyn Nets are now a reality. Their home, the Barclays Center, is scheduled to open on September 28. The Nets' first regular season home game is scheduled for November 1 against (who else?) the New York Knicks.
