The runway turned rodeo at the Carlos Miele show in Lincoln Center.

"The farms in South of Brazil, countryside women, how do they have this natural elegance? They have this freedom to ride horses or walk in the field," says Miele.

The designer says parts of his collection are inspired by his native country of Brazil, which he represents through ponchos, gaucho sashes and hats. But there is a whole other side to the collection — the evening wear.

"I always try to design a collection that is very cosmopolitan, that can be New York, Paris, Rio de Janeiro, any part of the world," says Miele.

Still inspired by his homeland, Miele stays on the horse but interprets the gaucho embroidery into dresses made of woven silk, adding a touch of glamour.

Meanwhile, for Carolina Herrera, this season is all about glamour. But the designer says her inspiration did not come from the '20s or '30s, like you might expect, but from the present.

"It's a collection that is for a glamorous woman who wants to be elegant, who wants to be seductive, who wants to be a real woman," says Herrera.

The fall collection was about fur embellishments, prints that looks like they are painted by hand and a silhouette that will make any woman look good.

"The news in this collection is the new proportion. Cropped jacket with pencil skirts, a little bit elongated, which makes women look much taller," says Herrera.

The collection also features pops of red and violets with lots of navy blue with black, which Herrera pointed out helped me fit right in.

"I'm in love with the navy blue and black, like you! You can be in the collection, working there," says Herrera.

So from architectural layers to fox fur throws, the glam girl who likes to have fun never, ever goes out of style.
