Some Brooklyn tenants say they're sick of dealing with a situation in their building that really stinks. Susan Jhun filed the following report.

Constant running of water is a real drain on residents here at The Borinquen Plaza Houses in Williamsburg.

"They say they got a broken pipe but it's been like this since November of last year and it seems like nothing's happening,” said resident Carmen Molina.

Housing residents reached out to NY1 once the water in the courtyard started flooding the entrance to their lobby, leaving an overwhelming smell.

"Putrid. It smells bad. It smells like sewage,” said resident Judith Pacheco.

"The smell, it's horrifying,” said Molina.

Beyond the stench, residents say the water creates a hazard.

"It's slippery. There are no signs,” said Pacheco.

Tenants say the situation has been like this for several months even though they've repeatedly ask for it to be fixed.

NY1 contacted The City Housing Authority and after looking into the situation a spokesperson told us NYCHA has scheduled work to address the situation.

In the meantime, residents will continue to hold their breaths waiting for some relief.

NY1 will keep you updated.
