Citi Bike is the fastest growing bike share program in the nation, according to new figures released by city officials this week.

They say the program has topped 5 million rides, covering about 10 million miles.

More than 432,000 people have bought passes.

Mayor Michael Bloomberg and Transportation Commissioner Janette Sadik-Khan say that more people ride the bikes during peak travel days than attend a Yankees game.

They say that a bike share program in Washington D.C. took about three years to hit similar numbers.
