Despite a looming government shutdown over the Affordable Care Act, New York State is set to launch its health insurance exchange Tuesday.
The program is called New York State of Health.
Millions of uninsured New Yorkers between the ages of 19 and 64 along with small businesses will be able to apply online for health and dental insurance.
Monthly premiums run between $134 to nearly $900 and can be determined through an online calculator.
The Health Exchange lists 16 insurance companies offering their services.
Any uninsured person who doesn't sign up for the program could face federal tax penalties.
