As President Barack Obama weighs his options on possible military action in Syria, protesters gathered in Times Square Thursday and called on the U.S. government to stay out of Syria.
They said that the last thing the country needs is another war, and they maintained that there has been no concrete proof that Syria is using chemical weapons.
"I think is a dialogue and I think is a peace," said one person. "There is a lot of ways to handle this matter diplomatically."
"I'm with the people here in this, that we shouldn't be repeating what happened with Afghanistan, Iraq and Libya," said another.
"They intervene in Iraq, they intervene in Libya, they intervene in Egypt, and it doesn't work," said a third.
Others at the rally said the government should spend more money on creating jobs and not on military action overseas.
