Osama bin Laden's son-in-law is asking for the terrorism charge against him to be dropped.

In papers filed in a federal court in Manhattan, lawyers for Sulaiman Abu Ghaith say he was tortured by the U.S. during a 14-hour flight from Jordan.

Abu Ghaith is facing charges that he conspired to kill Americans.

While prosecutors say he appeared in propaganda videos after the September 11th attacks, his lawyers claim that the indictment does not explain how he was involved in any plot.

In addition, they say their client's right to due process was violated, and that the statute of limitations has expired.
