Some slightly pricier items may be coming to city newsstands.

Mayor Michael Bloomberg signed a bill Monday morning that doubles the maximum price newsstands can charge for a single item, from $5 to $10.

Supporters say the move will allow newsstands to sell items like cellphone chargers, umbrellas and headphones.

This price was last increased in 2002, from $2 to $5.
