Former political strategist Hank Morris is being granted parole for his role in a pay-to-play scandal that also sent former State Comptroller Alan Hevesi to prison.
Morris has been in prison since March 2011, but a judge ruled earlier this month that Morris should have been released more than a year ago.
Now, Morris will be released from prison no later than June 3.
The terms of Morris' probation bar him from participating in any future political campaigns.
At one time, Morris was one of the most powerful Democratic political consultants in the state, advising Hevesi and Sen. Charles Schumer.
