The city's Department Of Health is rolling out a campaign of subway ads to help New Yorkers shake their habit of consuming too much salt.
These ads encourage people to watch out for sodium in packaged foods.
City health officials say even though many companies have lowered the amount in their products, customers need to take it a step further.
High sodium intake can lead to elevated blood pressure, heart attacks and strokes.
DOH officials say cutting back on salt could save 92,000 lives and up to $24 billion in health care costs each year.
