Schumer Urges TSA To Reconsider Allowing Small Knives On Planes

Senator Charles Schumer has joined the list of people calling on the Transportation Security Administration to reverse a decision to allow air travelers to carry small knives on planes.
Last week, the TSA announced certain types of small knives would be allowed on planes for the first time since September 11th.
The agency says it is being done to allow airport security to focus on more serious safety threats.
Federal air marshals and flight attendants were quick to object, calling the decision short sighted.
Now Schumer is echoing those sentiments, calling on the TSA to reverse course.
He calls the decision "baffling," saying it could put passengers, flight attendants, pilots and planes at risk.
The changes are scheduled to take effect April 25.
