According to numbers released Friday by the U.S. Labor Department, American businesses added 236,000 jobs during the month of February, bringing the unemployment rate to 7.7 percent.
It's the lowest level in four years.
A number of factors led to the boost in hiring, including the steady housing recovery, a growing demand for construction workers and stronger car sales.
Experts say the positive jobs report shows employers are confident in the economy, despite higher taxes and the recent government spending cuts.
