A spokesman said Wednesday that former Mayor Ed Koch was feeling better but was being treated in the hospital for an iron deficiency.

The 88-year-old former mayor and NY1 Wiseguy checked back into New York-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center on Monday with shortness of breath.

He had just gone home Saturday after a week-long hospital stay.

Doctors are trying to reduce the water around his lungs.

Koch's spokesperson says the former mayor will be in the hospital for at least a week, but by Wednesday night there was still no timetable for his release.
