Former Mayor Ed Koch expects to leave the hospital on Saturday after staying more than a week.

Doctors will be watching over him this weekend at New York Presbyterian-Columbia in Upper Manhattan.

Koch was admitted last Saturday night with fluid in his lungs and swollen ankles.

He's been told to watch his salt intake.

Koch is 88-years-old.

He has had several hospital stays recently, one in September for anemia and another in December for a respiratory infection.
