Former Rep. Michael McMahon is considering a return to politics.
McMahon confirmed he is contemplating a run for the seat in the House of Representatives he lost to Republican Michael Grimm in 2010.
While the election is still two years away, McMahon said any candidate would need to begin fundraising now.
The Democrat previously represented the North Shore in the City Council.
He has been working at a Manhattan law firm since he left office.
