Former Mayor and NY1 Wiseguy Ed Koch was hospitalized Sunday morning after his ankles swelled due to water build-up.

Tests also found water on his lungs.

By late Sunday it was unclear how long the 88-year-old former politician would have to be in the hospital.

This is the third time Koch has been hospitalized in the past six months.

His most recent hospitalization was in December, when he was treated for a respiratory infection.
