A familiar face has joined the growing list of candidates for mayor this year.

Jimmy McMillan, who ran for governor in 2010 as a member of the "Rent Is Too Damn High Party", announced his candidacy for mayor on Friday.

The 66-year old Vietnam vet's famous party isn't making a comeback, though. McMillan said he'll be running as a Republican.

McMillan made a splash in the 2010 gubernatorial race, when his rapid-fire debate responses made him a viral sensation.

Though he received less than 1 percent of the vote, he went on to release a movie about his 2010 bid.

He also briefly made a run during last year's presidential election.
