Hispanic lawmakers are celebrating a record number of Latino members in Congress.
Thirty-six Hispanic lawmakers are in the 113th Congress, including three in the Senate.
The Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute and Time Warner Cable held a reception to welcome new members.
"What's finally happened is the American people have begun to understand, not only the great contributions made, but the awesome potential, future potential of the Hispanic community," said Vice President Joe Biden.
"We recognize that we are all in this together, so please consider Time Warner Cable your partner," said Irene Esteves of Time Warner Cable.
Time Warner Cable is the parent company of NY1.
