Voters will be asked to head to the polls and choose a candidate in a special election to replace outgoing City Councilman James Sanders Jr.

Three nonpartisan candidates will face off February 19 for the 31st Council District, which covers parts of Springfield Gardens, Laurelton and Rosedale.

Sanders resigned after he won a seat in the State Senate.
