House Speaker John Boehner is blaming Democrats for the fiscal cliff stalemate.
In this week's GOP address, Boehner said President Barack Obama and Senate Democrats are rejecting House proposals while failing to come up with any responsible solutions of their own.
He claims Obama's ideas would do nothing but create red ink.
“What the president has offered so far simply won’t do anything to solve our spending problem and begin to address our nation's crippling debt. Instead, he wants more spending and more tax hikes that will hurt our economy," Boehner said.
One of the biggest sticking points in these eleventh hour negotiations is who should pay more taxes.
Obama's latest plan would increase taxes for households earning more than $400,000 a year.
Boehner only wants tax hikes for households that bring in more than $1 million a year.
