Parole Board Springs Hevesi From State Prison

Former State Comptroller Alan Hevesi will be released from prison next month.
A state parole board panel approved Hevesi's release Thursday.
He's been locked up since April 2011 after pleading guilty to felony corruption charges in a pay-to-play pension scandal.
The 72-year-old will be back home by December 19.
The Queens Democrat was originally sentenced to one to four years.
Meanwhile, a former close adviser to Hevesi, one-time Democratic consultant Hank Morris, was denied parole Thursday.
In reaching it's decision, the board said it wasn't sure Morris wouldn't break the law again.
Morris was sentenced to the maximum sentence of up to four years in prison in February 2011 after pleading guilty to a felony charge in connection with the pension scam.
He's due up for parole again early next year.
