With the election over, President Barack Obama is back to work in Washington D.C.

He's already been on the phone with top leaders of the House and Senate trying to figure out what can be done to get the divided Congress working.

In just a few weeks there could be sharp tax increases and a huge drop in government spending that could tip the nation back into recession unless .

House Speaker John Boehner says Republicans are willing to consider some form of higher tax revenue, but only under the right conditions.

Vice President Joe Biden is predicting legislative gridlock will ease after some soul-searching by lawmakers.

The president meanwhile is planning a visit to Southeast Asia later this month.

The White House says he will travel to Thailand, Myanmar and Cambodia.

Obama will become the first sitting president to visit Mynamar.

The administration is looking to encourage the new democracy to ease sanctions that were put in place against the former military regime.
