Across City, Obama Supporters Rejoice At Re-election News

Crowds in Harlem and Fort Greene erupted in cheer and broke out into song and dance after it was announced that President Barack Obama would be president for another four years.
"I feel that we've accomplished something in this country," one Obama supporter said. "The best is yet to come."
Those celebrating in the Harlem streets were a mix of both residents and visitors to the area.
Some there say they've met Obama before, others say they've met Mitt Romney.
"He's got a nice smile," a supporter said. "Obviously, in the black community this is a very powerful thing."
"I am thrilled. I am thrilled," an Obama supporter in Fort Greene said. "Obama got a chance to finish what he set out to do. I'm so happy."
While many are celebrating now, for some it was a long and stressful night.
"This time I was a little nervous," said one of the celebrators. "A little worried, but he did it again."
"I was really really excited. And really nervous," a Fort Greene supporter said. "I just got finished crying like a baby. I'm just happy that he's in for four more years."
Some waited hours just to vote. The poll coordinator at the Adam Clayton Powell Jr. State Office Building says he hadn't seen as many voters as he did today in the last two decades.
"I'm glad that I waited my two hours to vote make my vote count," one voter said.
The revelers in Fort Greene stopped traffic and popped champagne as the celebrated. While 2008 was a historic moment, this time the election was more like a sense of relief for the crowd.
"Barack Obama won from the heart," one person said. "When you talk from the heart, you reach the heart. And that's what he did. I'm proud. Proud to be American."
