The city is hoping to lure more tourists from Mexico.
New York's non-profit tourism and marketing agency, NYC and Co., is launching a tourism office in Mexico as part of a multi-million dollar push to promote New York City south of the border and in other Latin American countries.
The agency says the number of Mexicans visiting the city has nearly doubled in six years to 376-thousand last year.
This year, the City expects to welcome nearly 400-thousand visitors from Mexico.
NYC and Co. gets about 40 percent of its $35 million a year operating budget from the city government.
