Governor Andrew Cuomo is reportedly stepping up his efforts to boost tourism upstate.
The Daily News says the governor is restructuring the division of tourism and launching a new campaign in hopes of luring in visitors who typically flock to destinations in surrounding states.
The new campaign is touting sites like Niagara Falls and the War of 1812 battlefield in Sackets Harbor.
It's also suggesting spending a day at the state fair in Syracuse or heading east for destinations on the tip of Long Island.
The governor's plan could also include ways to get tourists visiting the city to extend their stays for side trips upstate.
Just last month, NY1 was there as the governor brought members of his cabinet and the media to the Adirondacks to get to know each other, and show off the land and breathtaking views upstate.
