“Inside City Hall,” an hour-long look at New York politics, can be seen on NY1 News weekdays at 7 and 10 p.m.

Last night, Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand and her Republican challenger, Wendy Long, faced off in a debate at Skidmore College sponsored by NY1 and our sister station YNN.

Watch a wrap up of the debate above by NY1's Zack Fink.

Tonight’s guests include: Jeff Greenfield; a member of the Google elections team; the filmmakers behind “16 Acres.”

INSIDE THE PAPERS

The New York Times

Ray Hernandez writes: “Seeking to reshape a national political debate he finds frustratingly superficial, Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg of New York is plunging into the 2012 campaign in its final weeks, creating his own “super PAC” to direct millions of dollars in donations to elect candidates from both parties who he believes will focus on problem solving.

Sharon Otterman previews tonight’s Al Smith dinner.

Thomas Kaplan reported on last night’s NY1/YNN debate with Kirsten Gillibrand and Wendy Long: “Senator Kirsten E. Gillibrand and her Republican challenger, Wendy E. Long, left their first and only debate on Wednesday in agreement on one issue: There was little that they agreed about.”

New York Post

Dave Seifman reports: “Mayor Bloomberg lined up yesterday with Comptroller John Liu — a longtime political foe — to announce a plan for speeding up $1 billion worth of city construction projects.”

Until tomorrow.
