Barney's department store has reached a settlement to resolve claims that the store deliberately targeted minority shoppers.

The $525,000 settlement was reached following a nine month investigation by State Attorney General Eric Schneiderman.

The review began after two African American customers said they were falsely accused of credit card fraud while shopping at the the department store's flagship location on the Upper East Side.

As part of the settlement, the store will also hire an "anti-profiling consultant" for two years to help train security and sales personnel. ClientIP:, UserAgent: CCBot/2.0 ( Profile: TWCSAMLSP
