Rep. Charles Rangel won Tuesday's District 13 congressional primary by outpointing challenger Adriano Espaillat in Manhattan despite Espaillat's dominance in the Bronx, election data shows.

A breakdown by CUNY Graduate Center's Center for Urban Research of unofficial election returns from the Associated Press shows Espaillat garnering the majority of the vote in three of the Bronx's five assembly districts. Rangel, however, won four of Manhattan's five assembly districts with a greater number of votes.
