Police descended on a suburban mall in New Jersey after gunfire rang out Monday night.

The Garden State Plaza Mall in Paramus, N.J. was on lockdown after there were reports of a shooting as the mall was about to close at around 9:30 p.m.

"No injuries. Nobody is hurt," said Richard LaBarbiera, the mayor of Paramus, N.J. "One of the most important things that we wanted to get across is that if you have a friend, a family member that is here, everyone is safe.

LaBarbiera said that one shell casing was found.
