Foster care kids and their parents were treated to a literary night out Monday night, as the New York City Administration for Children's Services hosted a "Reading Adventure Night Out" at the Sony Wonder Technology Lab.
The event's goal was to reinforce the importance of reading to kids at bedtime.
Foster families had the run of the technology and entertainment museum, and the younger kids were treated to short films and story sessions.
"An event like this is important because it raises awareness for the parents and foster parents of our youngest children about the importance of reading to young children, starting as soon as they are born," said Ronald Richter, commissioner of the New York City Administration for Children's Services.
The event was sponsored by the Sony Foundation.
