The Roku 3 is the latest version of the box for streaming all sorts of content from online to your TV in high quality. The just launched box has a whole host of new features, most notably, a new remote that allows you to plug headphones in so that you can watch without disturbing others in your home. What may be of particular interest to you though about Roku boxes now though, since chances are if you're watching this you're a Time Warner Cable customer, there's now a Time Warner Cable TV app on there.
"With the Roku app all you really have to know is alphabetical order. So if you like watching Bravo you're scrolling along and you have Bravo and the BBC America very easy to find your channel. If you're also looking for something to watch it's very intuitive, we've divided channels up by genre. We have access to up to 300 channels so almost every channel and some of that will depend on what package you subscribe to as a customer," explains Ryan Kelly of Time Warner Cable.
The Roku 3 box costs $99. For access to the TWCTV app you just need to be a Time Warner Cable video and cable customer, no extra cost.
Meantime, Legos are going high-tech through a new mobile app called BrickPix. Think of it like an Instagram type social network for kids, or non-kids, who are into Legos. You take a picture of the latest creation, upload it to your profile, and there is for others to see or perhaps, more importantly, for you to save before said creation gets destroyed.
"It's basically a photo social network where kids can get inspired and kinda just go for inspiration and show the things that they build," says Agatha June of BrickPix.
BrickPix is right now a free app for Windows phones, an iOS version is due out within about the next month or so.
