Microsoft is taking the unusual step of warning Internet Explorer users about a security issue that has not yet been fixed.
Microsoft says the vulnerability affects a part of its software used to play video on web sites. The glitch can happen if users visit web sites that have been hacked. From there, hackers can remotely take control of computers.
The problem affects Internet Explorers users running Windows XP or Windows Server 2003.
The company says users can disable parts of the software through its website as it works on a patch to solve the problem.
