After plenty of warning, and delays, it's finally time for the digital television transition.

Stations across the country will be shutting down their analog signals, after six decades of service.

Hundreds of stations have already made the switch to digital.

By some estimates, more than two-million households are still unprepared for the switch and, thus, will lose service today.

Any set connected to cable or satellite feeds is fine and most new TVs will be okay as well, even if they receive broadcasts through antennas.

The switchover is an effort to free up space on the radio spectrum for wireless broadband and cell phones.
