There is a new king of the Broadway box office.
"The Lion King" is now the highest grossing Broadway musical with steadily increasing sales throughout the years.
According to show's numbers, the musical has raked in more than $853.8 million.
"The Phantom Of The Opera" previously held the title with about $853.1 million.
While "Phantom" has been on Broadway about 10 years longer than "Lion King," the Disney musical has higher average ticket prices and a larger theater.
