NY1's Jill Scott takes a look at Table Top Market Week – what she calls "Fashion Week for your table" – for the latest in home design.

Table Top Market Week just wrapped up in New York City, and Rebecca Dolgin of thenest.com took us around to the industry-only showrooms at the 7 West building to show us what's in store for home design in 2009.

"Twice a year, editors and buyers from all over the country come to take a look at all of the latest items," explained Dolgin. "This is everything for the tabletop – glasses, china, vases, everything for home decor."

The first hot trend this season is decor that celebrates nature. A lot of designers are now showing wood in its natural state - no painting or staining. Come spring we'll see a lot of designers branch out and create very organic looks in everything from coasters to vases to candlesticks.

"Another new trend we're seeing for spring 2009 is ocean themes," Dolgin said. "You might remember a couple of seasons ago, coral was a really hot thing. This season it's all about sea shells. They are bleached white and they have a pretty airy, natural feel, and they are on everything from pillows to vases to frames."

If you love those flea market finds, you'll be happy to hear that shabby chic is making a comeback. Vintage-looking floral prints seem to be a hot thing and are perfect for mixing and matching.

Another trend is things designed for the way we live. A bowl from the Rachel Ray collection, for example, is called the Hipster - it can sit on your hip while you multitask.

And multitasking materials are still going strong. More and more products are being made from recycled materials - and this year they're getting brighter and more innovative than ever.

Most of these products will be available in the spring. And now that you have the dish on what's in store, you can think of ways to help give your home and your tabletop a new setting.
