NY Film Critics Circle Names "Zero Dark Thirty" Best Movie Of 2012

A movie about the hunt for Osama bin Laden received top honors from the New York Film Critics Circle.

The group named Kathryn Bigelow's "Zero Dark Thirty" the best film of 2012.

Bigelow was also named Best Director.

In 2010, she became the first woman to ever win the Best Director Oscar when she won for "The Hurt Locker."

Daniel Day-Lewis won Best Actor and Sally Field won Best Supporting Actress for their work in Steven Spielberg's "Lincoln."

The film also got awarded Best Screenplay for Tony Kushner.

Best Actress went to Rachel Weisz for her performance in the British period drama "The Deep Blue Sea."

Matthew McConaughey won Best Supporting Actor for his work in two films, "Bernie" and "Magic Mike."

The New York Film Critics Circle is made up of 35 New York-based critics.
