It's a Bird...It's a Plane...It's Superman
Superman is back in Metropolis, this time, for a singing good time, at City Center in the 1966 musical "It's a Bird…It's a Plane…It's Superman".
Fly away with Superman now through Sunday. Tickets start at $30.
Helen Reddy at B.B. King Blues Bar and Grill
She is Woman, Hear Her Roar. Helen Reddy wrote her iconic feminist anthem back in 1975, and the song still resonates today. You can expect Reddy to belt it out, along with other hits, at B.B. King's this Saturday night. Tickets are $52 in advance.
Bebe Neuwirth at 54 Below
Bebe Neuwirth knows a whoopee spot. It's 54 Below in the Theater District. The Star of Chicago and The Addams Family is performing there now through Saturday. Tickets start at $30.
Stephen Burrows: When Fashion Danced
In the spirit of Studio 54, head to the Museum of the City of NY for a celebration of '70s fashion Icon Stephen Burrows, who dressed the likes of Cher and Diana Ross and became the first African-American designer to gain international acclaim. "Stephen Burrows: When Fashion Danced" is there through September. Admission is $10 for adults and $6 for students and seniors.
Zefrey Throwell: Panic in the Chalk Cave
The Gasser and Grunert Gallery in Chelsea is hosting an exhibit where multimedia artist Zefrey Throwell is showing works he recreated after they were destroyed by Hurricane Sandy. Some contains his father's ashes. He had to get his mom's share of the ashes to recreate the work because his were lost in Hurricane Sandy. It's fascinating and up through this weekend.
The Orchid Show
Lastly, the days are getting longer, spring is officially here and "The Orchid Show" is back at the New York Botanical Garden. It's there through April 22. Tickets are $20 for adults and $8 for children.
Helen Reddy at B.B. King's
Pop singer Helen Reddy of "I Am Woman" fame has a Sunday night show at B.B. King Blues Club & Grill at 237 West 42nd Street. Showtime is at 8 p.m. and tickets are $52 in advance, $58 day of show.
