NY1's weekly segment "Your Weekend Starts Now" shows entertaining picks for great things to do this weekend all around the city. NY1's Stephanie Simon filed the following report.

"In Pieces" - LEGO Art In SoHo
www.brickartist.com

In Openhouse Gallery in SoHo, LEGO artist Nathan Sawaya is putting the pieces together in a whole new way. Among his LEGO creations are a little red dress that took three months to create.

"We actually took a model, dressed her in an actual fabric dress that we sewed together, put some wire in it to get it really looking flowing and use that as a basis," Sawaya says.

This exhibit not only Sawaya's well-known LEGO sculptures but also a new collaboration with Australian photographer Dean West, whose hyper-realistic photos include the sculptures.

"It’s fun, like a 'Where's Waldo' kind of project where people come in and try to find the objects," West says.

"In Pieces" is on view through Sunday.
