NY1's weekly segment "Your Weekend Starts Now" shows entertaining picks for great things to do this weekend all around the city. NY1's Frank DiLella filed the following report.

"Happy Merry Hanu-Mas"

First up, Broadway regulars turned "holiday guys" Marc Kudisch and Jeffry Denman are singing the sounds of Hanukkah and Christmas in their variety show "Happy Merry Hanu-Mas." This event, which promises an interfaith evening of song and cheer, is running at The York Theatre at St. Peter's through December 31. Tickets start at $59.50.

"A Civil War Christmas"

Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Paula Vogel explores Christmas time during the mid-19th century in her holiday play with music, "A Civil War Christmas." Set against the backdrop of the bloody war that divided our country, this work follows the likes of President Abraham Lincoln and his family, a runaway slave and her daughter and others as they all search for peace and happiness on Christmas Eve. The show is running at The New York Theatre Workshop now through the end of the month.

Christmas Concert At Birdland

Next, it's a swingin' Christmas at Birdland Nightclub with Jim Caruso and company, starting on Friday, December 21. Now in its third year, this jazzy Christmas celebration will feature Caruso, Billy Stritch and Klea Blackhurst, along with Birdland's jazz quartet. Expect to hear festive tunes with a unique spin, like "Sleigh Ride," "The Christmas Waltz" and others. The cover is $30 with a $10 food and drink minimum.

Rachael Sage At Joe's Pub

She's been called a mix between Fanny Brice and Norah Jones, and now songstress Rachael Sage will take on Joe's Pub with her latest show entitled "Tchatchkes and Latkes." The concert, which will serve as a benefit for Hurricane Sandy relief, will feature original songs, shtick and anecdotes, all by Sage. The one-night only event will take place at Joe's Pub on Saturday and tickets start at $12.

"National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation" At Sunshine Cinema

Finally, spend the weekend with Clark Griswold and family when "National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation" takes to the big screen at Landmark's Sunshine Cinema. The 1989 holiday film staple is set to play this Friday and Saturday at midnight.
