First up of course is Fashion's Night Out. If you've never done it before go straight to the website and narrow down a few of the hundreds of locations across the city to check out live music, product demonstrations and of course sales.
And if you're feeling illustrious this weekend head to the Brooklyn Public Library for "Fashion Illustration, A Contemporary Look." This exhibit at the Central Library at Grand Army Plaza showcases the artistry of many celebrated illustrators from across the city. Admission is FREE.
And to understand where it all began, head to the new exhibit "Urban Fabric: Building NY's Garment District" at the Skyscraper Museum in Battery Park City. This exhibit looks at the history and architecture of Manhattan's Garment District. Admission is $5; $2.50 for students and seniors.
Over at FIT, check out Fashion, A-Z: Highlights from the Museum collection, Part two. It's A-Z because it breaks from the timeline format and instead is a bit of alphabet soup showing a variety of modern styles. It's at Seventh Avenue and 27th Street. Admission is FREE.
For some non fashion fun -- but still trendy -- Saturday it's the the 3rd Annual Fort Greene Jazz Festival Series from 3-7 p.m. And it's free.
Brooklyn artists are opening their studios this weekend and visitors can vote for one who will be featured in an upcoming Brooklyn Museum exhibit.
Check out Marin Mazzie at 54 Below in the Theater District Thursday through Sunday. Often she sings with her hubby but this time the Tony nominated singer/actor is going solo. The cover charge is $35-$45 plus a $25 food and beverage minimum.
