"Microscopic Landscape" is making a big impact in its new, temporary home in Union Square. 22-year-old Malcolm MacDougall, an artist with an interest in the natural sciences, says the steel sculpture was inspired by bacteria and cells as seen through, you guessed it, a microscope.

Max Maven: Thinking In Person
www.maxmavenoffbroadway.com
Max Maven works his magic at his new off-Broadway show "Thinking in Person," now playing at the Abingdon Theatre Arts Complex. A magician and mentalist who has consulted for David Copperfield, Siegfried and Roy and others, Maven will blow your mind as he reads your mind in his logic-defying show. Catch it before it disappears on July 1.

Laura Osnes at the Carlyle
www.thecarlyle.com
She's been billed as Broadway's new musical sweetheart who recently stole audiences' hearts as Bonnie in Frank Wildhorn's musical "Bonnie and Clyde." Now the Tony-nominated Laura Osnes makes her cabaret debut at the Carlyle Hotel crooning Broadway, Jazz and much more. The show runs now through June 30.

Photoville

Over in Brooklyn Bridge Park, check out "Photoville," a new arts destination developed along the waterfront. Step inside freight containers turned galleries, to take in a variety of photos or attend a photography-focused lecture or workshop before taking a bite from the many participating food trucks. "Photoville" is in town through July 1.

Django Reinhardt NY Festival
www.birdlandjazz.com
The Django Reinhardt NY Festival is strumming once again at Birdland through the weekend. The now semi-annual event honors the late gypsy jazz guitarist who made his name in the 1930s and '40s.

Trafficked

Now through Saturday at the Upstairs Theatre in the East Village, don't miss "Trafficked," a new theater piece exploring sex slavery and child exploitation. It's written and performed by Project Girls Collective, a Brooklyn-based group empowering girls 14 to 21 through theater.
