Through Sunday, if you worship the music of Sly and the Family Stone, check out Dave Dorfman Dance at the Joyce Theater for the New York premiere of "Prophets Of Funk." This "funk-ified" performance celebrates the music and politics of the enigmatic Sly and the Family Stone.” Tickets are $10-$40.

Luciana Souza at the Allen Room

Friday and Saturday night, Brazilian singer Luciana Souza is playing the Allen Room at Jazz at Lincoln Center. See why this songstress is a four-time Grammy nominee for Best Jazz Vocals. Tickets are $55 and $65.

Terezin Exhibit at 92Y

Head to the 92nd Street Y for a unique series on Terezin, a Nazi transition camp for Jews during World War II, located in the current Czech Republic just outside of Prague. But despite the death and despair all around them, artists there continued to create theater, music art and more. The series of special events and performances, called “Will To Create, Will To Live: The Culture Of Terezin,” runs through early February.

Chinese New Year at World Financial Center

This Saturday, celebrate the Chinese lunar new year with crafts and performances at the World Financial Center, including face painting, acrobatics, traditional dance and more. The free celebration runs from 1 to 4 p.m.

Klez Dispensers at City Winery

On Sunday, check out the Klez Dispensers at City Winery. Every Sunday, the City Winery has a "klezmer brunch" from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. There is a $10 music charge, which does not include food or drinks. There is no music charge for kids age 13 and under.
