The Otesaga Resort Hotel in Cooperstown is batting 100 this year and it is anything but below average, because the historic hotel is celebrating its centennial. NY1's Valarie D'Elia filed the following report.The Otesaga Resort Hotel opened its lakefront doors back in 1909, the same time Honus Wagner was hitting them out of the park for the Pittsburgh Pirates.
Now, baseball fans of all stripes are making it a tradition to visit Cooperstown, where everyone draws a walk, because it's one of the most pedestrian-friendly villages in the country. The landmark hotel is a perfect location for exploring Cooperstown's key attractions, including the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum, Fenimore Art Museum, and the Farmers Museum.
The historic Leatherstocking Golf Course, also turning 100 this year, is right on par with the best links in the country.
The Otesaga is located 70 miles west of Albany and is about a four hour ride from New York City. Trailways buses leave from Port Authority directly to Cooperstown Village.
