VIBE Magazine’s V-Sessions was recently held in Joe's Pub at NoHo’s Public Theater, allowing hip-hop fans to hear the next generation of musical stars.

Hip-hop legend Busta Rhymes performed with rising performer Ron Browz.

George Whipple: What was it like being here tonight at this VIBE listening party?

Busta Rhymes: It was phenomenal. Part of my perspiration-anxiety still running through my blood, my adrenalin is speeding.

"It's just an honor to have me, you know, come here and do my thing," said Ron Browz.

Detroit-born-and-bred Suai performed, before her tour with Estelle and Solange Knowles, Beyoncé’s sister.

"I told the band members at rehearsal, I was like, 'I want to give them goose bumps, so we need to put these dynamics and these brakes in there,'” said Suai. “And I heard the 'huhhh' in the audience, and that let me know I did a good job.”

Hal Linton, a 23-year-old from Barbados, made quite a splash at VIBE.

"I like to call it 'Return from the Future' because, you know, it's a flashback to soul music in the past but it's kind of infused into hip-hop," he said.

Other performers enjoyed hearing new sounds from new faces.

"Absolutely, giving new artists a chance, a platform to get out there and really express their selves and get it in," said actor-rapper-TV host Nick Cannon.

"At VIBE Magazine we just like to support new artists and what they're doing and their growth in the music industry is alive and well and so is publishing," said VIBE editor-in-chief Danyel Smith.

The best part of V-Session was coming in contact with young, up-and-coming artists.
