NY1's Neil Rosen picked out his least-favorite films of 2008.

10. "Soul Men" was filled with raunchy, predictable gags and a script that was staler than the singing act that these two guys were trying to revive. It's too bad that Bernie Mac's last movie wasn't more fitting of his talents.

9. Samuel L. Jackson strikes again on my "worst list" with "The Spirit". This guy should really turn a script down once in while. In "The Spirit", he's an over-the-top comic book character in a movie that's ridiculous.

8. "Get Smart" was an awful remake of a classic TV sitcom from the 1960s. There was nothing funny or smart about Steve Carrell's performance or the movie itself.

7. Speaking of remakes, "The Women" was an updated version of a 1930's Hollywood film, this time With Meg Ryan leading the pack. The original had class, style, and some laughs. The new version had none of those things.

6. "Nights In Rodanthe" takes itself and its romantic storyline so seriously, it might have become unintentionally funny if it weren't so boring. Richard Gere and Diane Lane's reunion struck out here.

5. I liked the Broadway show "Mamma Mia", but all the life that was demonstrated on stage was sucked out of the movie version. Meryl Streep was bad and Pierce Brosnan downright embarrassed himself.

4. What would a ten worst list be without an M. Night Shyamalan movie on it? This year's horrendous entry was called "The Happening." The story was absurd, not at all scary, and it's message at the end, was as subtle as being hit by a sledgehammer.

3. "Australia" was an overly long, over indulgent mess of a movie by Baz Lurman. Nicole Kidman and Hugh Jackman were lost in a film that's all over the map, has no real story, and features one of the most annoying kids in film history.

2. Talking about unfunny. Mike Myers returned to the screen with one of the most humorless, movie characters ever put on film. In "The Love Guru", dozens of flatulence jokes abound and things only got worse from there.

1. Finally, my worst movie of the year was "Speed Racer." The script is incomprehensible, as the Wachowski Brothers made a complete mess of a movie. This unwatchable film, based on a cartoon, was an endurance contest to sit through.
