Rapper Lil' Wayne pleaded not guilty to illegal gun possession in Downtown Manhattan Wednesday.
The rapper, whose real name is Dwayne Carter, faces charges stemming from a July 2007 incident, when a city police officer claimed she spotted him seated next to a loaded handgun on his tour bus.
The officer claimed she smelled marijuana coming from the bus. Police then boarded the vehicle and allegedly saw a man trying to flush a bag down a toilet.
The rap star's lawyer claims police stopped and boarded the bus without probable cause and the charge should therefore be dismissed.
