The “Entourage” boys are back in town. In season five of the HBO hit series, the characters Vince, Eric, Turtle and Drama come home to Bayside, Queens.

This is the first time the Los Angeles-based show has done any filming in the city.

“When you see the season, it was important to these guys and the things that are going on in the show that they get in touch with where they came from,” said Doug Ellin, the show’s writer, creator, and executive producer. “You get a little hometown flavor.”

NY1 visited the cast and crew while they shot on location in Maspeth. Actor Adrian Grenier plays movie star Vincent Chase. Actor Kevin Dillon plays Chase’s older brother, perennial underdog and actor Johnny Drama.

“Well, you know, for Johnny Drama it's a pretty big moment,” said Dillon. “He's going back on top a little bit. He's got his show ‘Five Town,’ so for him he's hot stuff in Queens. He's got a little more bounce in his step, and you know for Vince it's a little bit of a different story.”

Under the watchful eye of local residents, a backyard barbecue scene was shot for “Entourage.”

“You know what, they've been really cool,” said Dillon of Queens residents. “There are a lot of big fans of the show in Queens and it’s nice.”

Not only is this a homecoming for the characters of “Entourage,” but the four main stars also come from the New York area.

“When we were casting it, it was essential that we found real New Yorkers to have that real feel,” said Ellin. “And they really are, so when we come back here, everyone is even more at home than in L.A., even though everyone has lived out there for years.”

The season premieres on September 7, and the season shot in Maspeth will be seen later in the season.
