New Yorkers Test Positive For West Nile Virus

City health officials said Friday that New Yorkers have tested positive for the West Nile virus.
A 73-year-old woman from Queens remained hospitalized Friday night after health officials say she likely became infected in the city.
A 60-year-old Bronx man also became infected, but he as of Friday he was out of the hospital.
The Department of Health says in some cases the virus can cause a serious or deadly infection of the brain and spinal cord.
They also say there appears to be more mosquitoes testing positive for the virus this year than last.
New Yorkers are urged to use insect repellent containing DEET, wear protective clothing, make sure windows have screens and get rid of any standing water.
