The latest unemployment numbers are out and the Bronx fared the worst out of the five borough.
The Bureau of Labor Statistics reports that in April the Bronx's jobless rate was 12.5 percent.
Brooklyn was second-highest with a 10.2 percent unemployment rate, followed by Queens with 8.7 percent, Staten Island with 8.5 percent and Manhattan in last with 7.9 percent.
Of the 23 counties in the metropolitan area, Nassau and Putnam counties reported the lowest rates at 6.4 percent.
On a whole, the rate in most area counties was lower than the rest of the nation, but higher than it was last year.
